Meet Our Doctors
Dr Tabitha Chng
BDS (Singapore), FAMS (Singapore),
MSc Paediatric Dentistry (Toronto), FRCD (Canada)
Diplomate, American Board of Paediatric Dentistry
Dr Chng is a double Board Certified Paediatric Dentist. Valedictorian of her graduating class at the National University of Singapore, she was twice placed on the Dean’s List and picked up numerous University Medals. Quick to identify her love for working with children, she pursued a diploma in Child Psychology after graduation which cemented her life-long decision to serve the paediatric population.
Receiving a scholarship from the Ministry of Health, she furthered her training at the University of Toronto, Canada where she received the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award and was awarded the Dr Keith Titley Paediatric Dental Graduate Training Scholarship. She is currently the only paediatric dentist in Singapore to be dually Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr Chng loves to see children smile and constantly strives to create a safe and relaxed environment for kids to enjoy their visits. She particularly enjoys guiding anxious children towards developing an excitement for their dental visits. Besides fighting cavities, she has a special interest in paediatric sleep medicine (eg. tooth grinding, snoring) and early management of crooked teeth without braces.
With a love for learning, she has completed a certificate in Nutrition and has more recently completed a second Masters in Sleep Medicine — all this while fretting over Mandarin for her three lovable children and hoping PSLE will be scrapped by the time they are of age.
Dr Doris Chua
BDS (Singapore)
MDS Paediatric Dentistry (Singapore)
FAMS (Paediatric Dentistry)
Dr Doris decided she wanted to be a dentist at the young age of 11, after being inspired by her own dentist. Graduating from the National University of Singpaore with a Bachelors of Dental Surgery, she was subsequently conferred a Masters degree in Paediatric Dentistry. Dr Doris has dedicated more than 10 years of her career to the public service and nothing brings her greater joy than engaging with children. After all, it keeps her young at heart!
While striving to keep each child's experience at the dental clinic fun and enjoyable, Dr Doris remains steadfast in doing what's best for the child. Winning awards for her outstanding service to her paediatric patients, she intends to put her child whispering skills to good use at My First Dentist - helping children to overcome their dental fears and develop a love for dental care.
Dr Doris' alter ego is Dancer Doris. An avid dancer, she dances almost every evening of the week. Her current obsessions include tap dance, salsa and bachata.
Dr Tan Wee Kiat
BDS (Singapore),
MSc (University of London)
Dr Tan is a Malaysian. She came to Singapore at the age of 18 to interview for a Singapore Merit Scholarship. The panel gave her a scholarship in Medicine. She rejected it. Fortunately, the panel liked her spunk and offered her Dentistry instead.
The rest is history. The same spunk continues throughout her career. Pioneering as the 1st paediatric dentist in Public Service, she won a Ministry of Health scholarship to study Advanced Paediatric Dentistry at New York University, becoming the 1st to be trained both sides of the Atlantic. She is a recipient of the 2010 Long Service Award and Golden Anchor Award for pioneering service.
Dentistry is but a facet of her life. In her free time, she is a writer, poet, artist, drummer and aspiring actor.
